Angela Chong
Clinical Operations Manager

Angela qualified as a General Comprehensive Nurse and holds a bachelor in business (Management major). As a manager with over fifteen years’ experience in project, operations, service delivery and relationship management Angela has a proven ability to turn projects around. Angela is a problem-solver and has worked on numerous research projects both at Reach and at the University of Auckland.

Angela’s role is to view projects from a hands-on operational and contract delivery perspective, improving processes, promoting clinical safety and quality outcomes.

Ethyn Sturm
Service and Delivery Manager

Ethyn oversees service and operational requirements for Reach’s Telehealth work, while also managing survey projects. Notably, he played an instrumental role in setting up and evolving much of Reach’s contributions to the COVID-19 response in New Zealand, including National Contact Tracing and Case Investigation services. 

Ethyn has a background in discursive psychology and conversation analysis. He holds a Bachelor of Science with Honours and a Bachelor of Arts from Victoria University of Wellington, where he developed a strong foundation in research methods and data analysis.

Esther Bowater
Project Manager

Esther is responsible for project management of our most complex survey projects. She manages key client and stakeholder relationships, including with the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Justice, and the Ministry of Transport. 

Esther has a background in law and policy, and has a Bachelor of Laws from Victoria University of Wellington. 

Eddie Sy
Head of IT Operations and Data Delivery

Eddie’s focus is maintaining and enhancing operational processes, driving organisational growth and the optimal exploitation of emerging technologies.

Eddie is responsible for data delivery and QA, managing the Reach team of programmers and analysts.

He is particularly skilled in identifying problems and implementing solutions as well as developing & mentoring technical talents. With 18+ years proven global IT leadership and management expertise, he has spearheaded IT development and operation teams across different continents of various sizes and complexities.

Emma Harrison
Field Team Manager

Emma has a keen interest in Public Policy and the implementation of equitable services for our community. Emma has worked closely with local council in past roles to ensure that diversity, access, and inclusion were considered in funding and programming decisions. 

In the role of Field Team Manager for Reach Aotearoa Emma oversees the running of Field projects. She connects our people with projects and ensures they are well-equipped, resourced and supported in their role. 

Sharing insight from the Field with our project sponsors is a highlight of Emma’s role to ensure that policy makers are well connected to our communities. 

Esther de Laat
Business Administrator

In the role of Business Administrator and managing the accounts for the business, Esther plays a vital role in ensuring both the field and management team is supported. 

Esther has developed and maintains the systems for managing the core business processes that keep Reach running smoothly, managing pay for up to 2000 staff, and the complex logistics of Reach's national survey field force.

Vicki Fricker
Head of People and Culture

Vicki brings extensive recruitment and HR experience to this role. She has a strong reputation for connecting the right people with the right opportunities. Vicki’s passion for leading successful teams inspires her work in the People and Culture space, delivering effective recruitment and HR solutions.
